Like a Girl is an independent, Winterthur-based feminist magazine. For their 12th edition titled “Schmutzig, Dreckig und Verdorben”, the editors-in-chief Lynn and art-director Alpha invited me to shoot the main photo spread and to work with models who had answered their call for people with insecurities regarding their skin. With this subject, they aimed at redefining the boundaries of the concepts of dirt and filth, either by rejecting those as labels, or by reclaiming them. My series does the latter by highlighting the model’s perceived imperfections and finding beauty in the contrast, textures and folds.
